Expect the Unexpected

This city I live in is a truly wonderful one. There is always something happening somewhere and I think the key to this place is to expect the unexpected. For example this dumpster in the picture above. Placed in a carparking spot on the very busy lane where I where I work. Quite
pretty and clever I think.
In this city we have bars made out of shipping containers, cafes that seem to spring out of random holes in walls, but who make the yummiest food and coffee. We have rooftop cinemas, nightmarkets, tram-restaurants, moonlight-cinemas and festivals galore. And summer is definitely around the corner with a balmy 28 degrees today. Joy.
Of course, there are things I don't like such as the smelly, overcrowded trams in the morning, the fact that people seem obsessed with what schools they once went to, the water restrictions, and the fact that is such a damn long way from home!
So long, farewell, auf Widersehn, goodbye. I'm off to enjoy some gelato.

Monster

Men va fan. Ibland behöver man ventilera.

21 again...

A massive thank you to those who sent me lovely emails, cards, textmessages or other greetings on my birthday.

I had a lovely day and got reallt spoilt: cake from Will and Marg the night before the day, cake and candles from the guys at work, presents from Will and a parcel from my mum and then to top it all off; Will had booked a table at Libertine. It is one place I had wanted to go for ages and it did not disappoint; the food was absolutely wonderful and I can't recommend it highly enough! Please check it out http://www.libertinedining.com.au/

Good night and sleep tight. Sov sa gott, vi ses snart! Kram mia.

North Melbourne

My neighbourhood on a wall.

The red, stripy line represents the tramroute. The yellow square is the Townhall, and we live just above that in the next square block.

All this talking of neighbourhood made me think of our neighbours. The unit next to ours was sold some time ago, and in moved a couple. Since our walls are paperthin (concrete slabs), noice travels far and loud, but these guys seemed fairly quiet. Then came the noice. A very primal noice if I put it that way. Daytime, nighttime, weekdays or weekends. Not so nice. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a very nice note asking them to PLEASE keep the sound down. Two days later, they moved out. Coincidence I am sure.

New neighbours moved in yesterday and kept us awake with gems from the soundtrack of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
Looks like it is going to be a beautiful neighbourship.

The Future is Unwritten

We are just back from seeing the movie about Joe Strummer and it was absolutely amazing. What a man; what a life. Such a shame he is no longer around to create music, art and poetry and to influence peoples' lives.

This entry was written a couple of weeks ago, but since my laptop seems to take aaaaaages to do anything, I have more or less given up using it. This is just another attempt at keeping this little blog as well as commnication with friends and family alive and kicking.

Sunday Sunday Here Again a Walk in the Park

We took the boat to Williamstown today, which turned out to be a great little trip down the Yarra. Once there, we had the obligatory Fish and Chips and it was yummy. I then dragged Will a fairly long way to get to a shop I had read about. Of course, when we finally got there, the place was closed. So we got on the train back to North Melbourne, went home and had a great Sunday arvo snooze. Lovely.

Spring is in the air

We have even had a 25 degree day, which is quite scary as summer should still be far, far away. Today I wore thongs for the first time in months. That was quite scary too; white, pale, pasty feet is not a particularly good look!

Munch

Marit Bergman - I Think it's a Rainbow
The Cardigans - Super Extra Gravity
Bluetones - Expecting to Fly
Lily Allen - Alright, Still
Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head
Kent - Kent, Verkligen, Hagnesta Hill, B-Sidor, Vapen & Ammunition.
Basement Jaxx - Best of...
Roni Size and Reprazent - New Form
Oasis - Definitely Maybe (+ alla mina gamla singlar...incl. Whatever).
Robyn -Robyn
Popsicle - Abstinence, The Power Ballads EP
The Smiths - Strangeways, Here We Come, The Queen is Dead
The Streets - Original Pirate Material
Suede - Dog Man Star, Coming Up, Head Music, Sci-Fi Lullabies
Longpigs - The Sun is Often Out, Mobile Homes
Infinite Mass - 1991
Prominent - Prominent

Fan fan fan. Jag hoppas att någon/några kan hjälpa!!!!!!!

The End

After all these years together, I am about to read the last chapter in the last Harry Potter book. My heart races and I almost skim the pages; to read more, to read faster, to find out what is going to happen. Will he live or die? Will good prevail over evil? No time to mull it over. Time to go get the book.

Baby Blues

Oh dear, he's crying again.

Tuesday Thoughts

The pie turned out great; even Winston the Cat liked it so much he ate the leftovers (much to Sabina's disappointment the next day).

Yesterday and today I have spent at home. I am reading a fantastic book which my Moster Dani recommended: The Exception by Christian Jungersen, which takes place at the Danish Centre for Genocide Information! http://www.theexception.eu/

I have applied for jobs I am most likely not going to get (although a gal's gotta try), have been doing some reasearch for my thesis and trying to keep up to date on all the inns and outs of International Humanitarian Law for the course I am attending later tonight. Phew.

The little boy who lives upstairs is crying again. It is the fourth time today. Hang on, now he's laughing again and running across the floor. The house isn't that soundproof...

Mid Summer / Winter

In the middle of winter, to me it seems very logical to celebrate midsummer. Since I don't have a garden, or the willpower to pull off such an event, we headed down to the Swedish Church in Toorak to partake in some Swedish festivities.
The day started really well with fika (kanelbullar och sommartårta), raffle tickets where Will and I both won lollies, a service where we got to hear (and hum along to) Den Blomstertid nu Kommer and I denna ljuva sommartid. Despite all this, I have to say that the grand finale did belong to the Maypole and the dancing around it. The picture shows what Swedes get up to during this important day. (I also have a couple of cracking video clips, but to see those, please email me as I can only seem to be able to post pictures here).

Glad midsommar/vinter!

Queen's birthday

My lovely friend Sab has been struck down with meningitis and is in hospital. She has had a lumbar puncture and an MRI but the doctor's are still unsure of exactly what kind of meningitis she has. I saw her yesterday and she was much better than when I visited on Saturday. Unfortunately she had a difficult night so I can't see her today as she must sleep through the day. Hopefully it won't be too long before she can go home (although she was very impressed by the hospital food - you get to choose from a menu!!!)

Apart from poor Sab, everything else is fine here.

We caught up with some friends on Friday night for a couple of drinks and some food at the Townhall Hotel.
Saturday was Will's cousin Ed's 21st and the theme was tawdry. My look was Joan Collins from the Dynasty Era!!!
We had a look at the Archibald prize shortlist paintings today and they were fantastic! Check them out on www.thearchibaldprize.com.au
Today is a public holiday which means I have time to make lasagne from scratch! I bought a pasta machine yesterday and I am very excited about using it today. Wish me luck!

Lovely weekend

I went for after-work drinks on Friday evening with Liz and Greg from the CAE. Afterwards I tried to get home, although there were no trams in sight and the end result was that I ended up walking pretty much all the way home. When the tram finally caught up with me I got to go TWO whole stops!! Exhausted and starving Will and I went to the Metropolitan and had a yummy feed.

On Saturday Fish stopped by to fix up Gab's bike which he bought ages ago and which has been at our place waiting for Gab's birthday to come around. In the early afternoon we ventured out to Seddon where they now live (they have bought a great house) to congratulate Gab on her birthday. Headed back and slightly disoriented (Although it feels like 10pm, it's only 7 pm. What do we do now?) Will started watching Footy. I called my brother to say hi. We finally got our act together and headed to the Rrose bar and stayed for a few glasses of bubbly (Yum!)

Sunday came along in a spectacular fashion and treated us to a beautiful day. Sunny and quite warm; the perfect autumn day. Will went and played golf and I met up with Al for a coffee down in Balaclava. I went for a trip down memory lane. I can't believe I haven't been down there since 2002 as a Backpacker! Headed up to Fed Square and went for a little spin around as there was an Italian Market on. I really need to brush up on the language as I can't seem to string a sentence together anymore. To finish off the great weekend, and as it was Sunday, we had a lovely roast for dinner!

A Pinch and a Punch

The company I wrote about in my last entry is not Swedish in that it originated there. The owner of the company is Swedish but started the business here, hence you can't find it in Sweden. You can find companies like it, but not that particular one.

Tomorrow my Irish friend Gillian is getting married to Lee from Leeds. It would have been great to be there (Irish weddings are fun!), but the financial situation does not allow for such extravagance. Good luck you both and have a wonderful day.

Tack till mamma for paketet.

A pinch and a punch. Today is the first day of winter. It is 10-15 degrees, rainy and rather windy. It is like I never left the motherland.

Angry

There is a company here (which shall ramain nameless for legal reasons) which plays heavily on their Swedihness. Swedish style and Swedish design, and Swedish people who work there. Unfortunately for the people who work there, the person who owns the company has somewhere along the lines forgotten his/her own Swedishness. The staff are treated terribly. You see, there are certain worklaws here in Australia (driven through by the right wing Howard government) which give all the rights to companies and take all rights away from the employees.
- If you do not want to pay your employees extra on weeknights, weekends and public holidays, well you simply don't have to! (This Swedish company does not).
- There are cameras in the workplace which the owners of the company watch all the time, and if something not to their liking happens in the shop, well Big Brother is watching and will be only a phonecall and a bollocking away. (Yes folks, this is done!)
- An employee going on maternity leave will go UNPAID as the company will only grant parental leave of absence as per thier legal obligations. (Companies here do not have to pay anyone, only of good-will).

My point is that someone who wants to claim being Swedish, should also bring what's good about Sweden to their company and lead by example. Shame on them.

I wish I could ask you all to blacklist this company, but that would be hard as it only exists in Australia and many of you live in Sweden or elsewhere.

Luxury of Hysteria

We went to see Tim Rogers play an acoustic set at Bennetts Lane Jazz Club on Saturday. It was absolutely amazing. Birtles who was there with us was super excited about the whole thing as Tim is one of his favourite artists, although Birtles' girlfriend didn't seem too impressed with the performance. Oh well, I guess you can't win 'em all.
Check out www.youami.com.au alternatively www.youami.net - the band Tim Rogers is the lead singer of.

Goldfish continued

Both have died!!! We tried changing the ph of the water and all sorts of other measurments, but on Saturday they had both died. I cried and Will had to scoop them out and "bury" them somewhere. (What to do with dead pets when you don't have a garden out the back?) The toilet it is....

So Sam and Friend; thanks for the short but very sweet company you provided.

I am so excited!!

Anniversary

We didn't exactly have any grand plans of exciting things to do today, but then again neither of us expected it to end like this: me in bed feeling pretty average. I am hardly ever ill so I guess when it finally happens it's only fair it happens on the one day you want to be able to do something fun like going to a nice resaurant or for a walk in the Botanical Gardens.

Happy Crappyversary, babe.

Goldfish

We have bought a couple of goldfish and here's a little photo where you can probably not see
them at all! The fishtank itself it pretty funky though! As per usual, there's a bit of a story here... I asked Will to name the fish and the only name he could come up with was a very Swedish name that I actually have a couple of friends called, so i used my veto power against it. Days went by and no new name was put forward. I kept asking for new names, but nothing happened. One night we were watching I am Sam on tv when Will tells me that one of the little fish may be dying as he was hanging out by the surface, being very still. I started crying saying I have killed my fish (I had overfed the little buggers). The worst thing was that the poor fish could die and not have a name. So in the spirit of Sam, they are now known as Sam and Friend.

And they are both still alive.

Baby

Autumn is slowly creeping closer. The days are shorter, but it is still warm and sunny. As much as we need the rain, I still hope for many more sunny autumn days before winter kicks in. Mum sent my gloves, beanie and jacket over and it's nice to wear something which reminds me of home and makes me warm inside.

Yesterday, Jean (and Tom!) had a little baby girl and Will and I went to Ballarat to see the new edition to the family (them!) and she is beautiful and very small. She was very eager to see the world, as she was not supposed to arrive for another three weeks!

Not much else happening right now. I am still contemplating finishing off my thesis, however I am not happy with the topic so I am trying to come up with other possibilities instead, a task which turns out to be harder than it first seemed. Any ideas?

Friday, 30 March 2007

Hi my name is...

Since having moved into our new pad, my days are spent doing what Swedes do best: organising, accessorizing and nesting. Ikea, interior design magazines, finding matching shelves and towels and coasters and ovengloves and all sort of weird and wonderful bits that a new place needs. Different colours for different areas. My poor (but very patient, extremely understanding and completely bored out of his skull at Ikea) Will is taking it all in his stride. He is my hero as he is standing by in the madness that is Miagoesshoppingandcannotbedisturbedinthemeantime.

Until next time, travel safe on your way to Ikea (yes, you could almost think I was paid to namedrop), sleep well and dream sweet dreams of matching colourschemes.

...mia and I am an interiorshopaholic

Moving on

The GP ended with a BANG (literally) and on Monday morning I crawled out of bed, not because I particularly wanted to, but because the bulders were in the house. I could tell as there was a lot of banging and drilling and banging and drilling and some awful music played very loud. I managed to get dressed and had a shower in the upstairs bathroom (although Mr Builder wanted to do some more banging and drilling there, I got my way). Snuck into the café on the corner where the owner Jimmy asked me if I was alright. I croaked that I was a bit tired, paid for my coffee and headed towards the city.
On Tuesday, the builders showed up again, but this time I snapped and when he said "How nice of you to get out of bed". I simply replied with a "Don't you f****ng dare talking to me about getting out of bed". I'm so proud of myself...

(Footnote to builder story: they have been "working" on the house for two months and we are all pretty fed up with having them around):

Great news - we have moved!! We have a lovely place not far away that we can call our own and since I am currently unemployed until mid April, I can spend my days pottering around in our little pad doing what I want; listening to music, reading a mag, drinking coffee or watching telly.

Talk later, Melbourne is offering her finest weather and I'm off to hang out in the sunshine.

Grand Prix

Since starting work coordinating the administration for the Grand Prix, my life pretty much includes 12 hour work days. I am currently getting out of bed at 4am to be down at the track for 5.30. Luckily, the big day is getting closer and closer, which means I can finally get some sleep!!!

The F1 cars were out test driving today and I managed to get a glimpse for a few minutes before I had to run back to our Zone Hut. Unfortunately, I think that's all I will get to see as I am stuck in there making sure the staff are signed in, signed out, fed, looked after and much more. So much for driving round in golfbuggies as we were promised when we started the job...

I'm off to bed to get a few hours presious sleep.

Ina, vad har du för telefonnummer?

Babyshower

I got invited to my first babyshower. Don't I feel like I just got handed about a thousand vuxenpoäng!!!

My first thought was Carrie and Sex and the City.

Will there be a list at Myer? Or should I bring a diapercake? Or should it be something for the mum? Those of you in the know, please share your insights.

Big kiss,
Shoegal.

Work and no play

The Grand Prix job is hard work and I seem to spend my days troubleshooting and filing paper from one pile of files into another. Over and over again I do this. My head is spinning, make it stop!! Despite this, I like the job and the lovely people I work with in particular. I got my credentials today, which is quite exciting. Not quite so exciting is the fact that we didn't get access to the good stuff like the pitlane and paddock....

Yesterday I saw a Big Issue dude shouting "Are you stoned?"... into his mobile phone. Just a weird sight and a weird conversation.

The weekend was spent taking it easy; hanging out and not doing much, which was very nice indeed.

My camera broke a while ago, so I'm afraid it's going to be a while before any pics will be posted.

Bought Amy Winehouse's cd. Wicked stuff.

Headache

Woke up with a headache. Went to work and stayed for a few hours, most of them spent in a bit of a haze. Went home, tucked myself into bed and slept for 5 hours. Feeling better now, although a bit fragile. Ready to go to bed, to wake up and go to work again.

Foxtrot, the egyptian dance and other activities

Some days are better than other. Some days are more eventful than others. And some days are just hot, humid and regular. I have no ida where I am going with this, however I think the point is that it has been a while since I spent any time jotting down my thoughts.

The last couple of weeks have been hectic but hectic is good as it means I am finally bringing in some money. I still haven't got myself a "real" job; instead I am currently juggling 3!!
The latest addition is working as an events organiser for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. It is busy, busy, busy. Having said that, the people I work with are great and I get to spend four days at the circuit, wearing a headset, driving a golfbuggy and wearing a (probably) rather silly uniform.

Last weekend we went up to Albany (about 3-4 hours northeast of Melbourne on the NSW border) to go to an engagement party. We spent all of Saturday on Ryno's family's farm and I got to drive a quadbike. Heaps of fun!!! I did not see snakes or creepy crawlies, instead calves and kangaroos; much better and furrier.
The party was fun, although I have to say the cheap wine and lovely bubbly did it's job, and by the end I remember doing the "Egyptian dance" to the Bangles as well as trying to foxtrot with Will. Zigzagzigzagzigzag.

Yesterday the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra did a free concert at the Sidney Myer Musicbowl so Will, Al, Lou and myself had a picnic, some wine, great company, fabulous fireworks and not to forget absolutely amazing music.

I have also had time to crack the shits twice. Once about the state of this house. (The state is messy. No one could be bothered tidying or cleaning...) And once when a person (no names mentioned) decided he wanted to watch an old episode of South Park when desperate Housewives was on. I watch one program a week and I nearly lost it. Then the comment (not personally to me the coward) came: "Technically it's ----'- Tv and my box".
Yes, I'll remember that next time you want to use my laptop and Will's modem. ;-)

This coming weekend I will be working.

Today two people have told me they don't see Britain and Ireland as being Europe, or Scandinavia for that matter. Only the mainland. Maybe it's just me, but that sounds strange. What do you think?

Scrambled

Yay, Will's back home after a week in Bendigo.
We went for dinner on Friday night when we ran into Mikey and John who were on their way to a pub by the market. After dinner I met up with them which was lovely as I haven't really been out with Mikey this time around. So refreshing to hang out with "new" people!!

On Saturday, we went to the Eyes, Lies and Illusions exhibition at ACMI at Fed Square. I was a little bit disappointed as I thought it was going to be more interactive, but on the whole not too bad.
Have a look through the website: http://www.acmi.net.au/eyes_lies_illusions.jsp

Right now Moose is cooking up a storm and it smells absolutely great. Yum.

Bought The Good, the Bad and the Queen. Yep, Damon's back. (Was he ever gone?)

Will is starting Swedish at Melbourne Uni in a couple of weeks. He's a brave man!

The truth about bling

I saw Blood Diamond last Sunday. Please go see it. It tells the truth; the awful, hurtful truth.

Jeanette at work is going to have a baby in August. Very exciting news. Many babies around soon.

Will's away the whole week and it's very quiet around here...

Not much to report right now. I'll get back as soon as I have news.

Alright, Still

Thusday and since I had the day off work today, I met Will for lunch in the city, then I met up with Nellie since her and Birtles are moving here from Canberra.
Working tomorrow but on Saturday myself, Sabina and Jeanette from work are going to the beach. Bring on magazines, fruitsalads, sand and maybe, just maybe, even a dip in th ocean. (Badkruka).

On Monday Will and I went to see Lily Allen and she was absolutely great. A little pixie dressed in a gorgeous floral 1960's type dress. Attitude all the way. Me like.
A review from The Age: http://www.theage.com.au/news/music/lilting-lily-carries-the-can/2007/01/30/1169919313401.html

Australia Day

Today it's the national day of the land down under. Some might say it's invasion day (the day the first fleet landed in 1788). Something to think about nevertheless.

We're off to a barbeque this afternoon and heaven knows how it'll end. Happily ever after I hope.

Write more soon.

Jobsearch

Another job application posted, another application-unsuccesful reply. It's starting to get to me. I think I'm pretty nice and good at what I'd like to do. So what the hell is wrong with me? Or what the hell is wrong with them for not wanting me? It would be interesting to know what competition I'm up against. I suppose I'm at kikki.K for a while longer.

Apart from this, things are ok right now. Had lunch with lovely Sabina today. Posted a letter and a little package to Sweden. Applied for another job.

Time for a cuppa. Take care you lovelies.

Musik

Just nu får fäljande låtar mig att må bättre:

Popsicle: Sunkissed och Bird
Prominent: Say Hey och Regrets
Beats International: Dub be good to me
Longpigs: All Hype
Jeff Buckley: Hallelujah
Jens Leklman: The Cold Swedish Winter
Kent: Sverige
Yvonne: Drifter
Spiritualized: Stop Your Crying och Cool Waves
Roy Ayers: Everybody Loves the Sunshine
Marit: Green Light och allt annat!!!
Oasis: Aquiesce

Alla mina gamla godingar. Ojojoj they bring me back...

Babyspiderincident

Ysterday I was on my way to work and I thought I saw a fly on the mirror in the bedroom. Turns out it wasn't a fly, but a baby spider. Brown and hairy. I decided to be tough (I was home alone) and kill the litte bastard. (We need rain). I popped to the bathroom, grabbed some paper and proceded to squash it when it JUMPED from the wall straight out past my shoulder. I screamed and f--k knows where it jumped to. I quickly proceeded to call Will and leave a message which went something like this:
- Hi, it's me. I tried to kill a spider when it jumped. We have a jumping baby spider in the bedroom. Does that mean that we have, or will be about to have big jumping spiders in the bedroom? Weeouuuiiii (Whingey noise).

Jumping spiders suck. Especially when the hairy jumping spiders may be hiding in your shoes or clothes or make-up bag or underwear drawer or similar. But I'll be strong. I have found out that the can't kill me (the Swedish girls at work said even babyspiders can kill you. I nearly cried. Will, Al and Pete told me that's not true, phew).

Went to the lovely Night Market yesterday with Pete, Al, Murrell and Johanne. Had tortilla and bought a little something.

Enjoy your time wherever you are and if you don't want to be there, think of jumping babyspiders and me!!

33.1

It's 23.34 and it's 33.1 degrees celsius. Yikes. It was pretty hot today...

Not much to report right now apart from the fact that lovely Will was called out to the fires today and is not expected home until Sunday. They (the staff from the Department of Primary Industries where he works) have been called up pre-emptively incase the roads are blocked later on! Wonderful... I would appreciate if you all did a little rain-dance!!

I'm off to bed with the lovely new fan cranked up to full speed. Wroom wroom.

Puss och kram, vi ses och hörs.

Friday, fences and football

Friday was interesting. I had just got home from having gone on a little trip on my bike and was about to walk through th door when the door wouldn't open. Not beacuse I didn't have keys or I was standing by the wrong door, but because the lock had jammed. Wonderful. And noone home. Wonderful. After calling Will, cursing, throwing of keys out of frustration the next door neighbour opened her door (she had heard the noise and thought some psycho ex-girlfriend had attacked...) and offered to help. I climbed onto her roof, across a high wall to get to our balcony to discover the door was locked. I had locked it earlier that day. Wonderful. After some hard work to get back across and down again flatmate Moose popped his head out through the kitchen door downstairs. I was saved! He had had to climb out his downstairs window to get out, and could that way get back in again. I hope the lock will be fixed soon.

Went to the pool to hang out with Sabi. Lovely day, not too hot today.

Got home and was supposed to meet Moa who had come down from Sydney to sail back up on Saturday morning, but unfortunately they were quite far away from the city and had to get up at 4am so we never met.

Went with Will to football instead. (Soccer as they insist on calling it here. The real football I'd like to add. Soccer my ----). Melbourne Victory had a crowd of 29,000 on a Friday night with Cricket on at the MCG. Not too shabby! Unfortunately they lost 2-1 after Queensland scored in the 93rd minute.

Signing off to go get some food. Me hungry (as per usual).

Possums

Just saw mama possum and baby possum climbing a fence in the backyard. Very cute I thought and wanted to take a photo when they disappeared. I felt like Kalle Anka på julafton.

It's going to be 39 degrees next week. Luckily, Will and I got a brand spanking new fan yesterday, which should (hopefully) make it possible to sleep at night.

Fires have flared up again so Will is on standby to go to private land that has been burnt out in order to assess damages.

Ok, time to go finish off my drink and hit the hay.

Quiet

Friday was just as hot if not even hotter than Thursday. I worked Friday until 9pm then home tired, had a glass of wine and bed. Unfortunately, our room is upstairs and despite having a fan it was unbearably warm. Opening the door resulted in mosquitoes, which meant a closed door and another night of tossing and turning and not sleeping much.

We had a look at two houses on Saturday. No good.

Everything is pretty quiet here at the moment, not much to report.
I'll get back to you when (hopefully) something exciting happens!!!

Hot stuff

We went to Ballarat yesterday evening as it was Tom's birthday. Meg, Lach and Marg were there too, and of course Jean with her babybump!! We had yummy Thai food and gorgeous birthday cake which Jean had made. Stayed the night and got on the 07.46 train back to Melbourne with Jean as Will continued to Horsham by car.

I think I will be taking myself, a good book and lots of water on the bike and head towards the pool in North Melbourne as it is hot, hot, hot out there today.

Catch ya later.

New Year

We have spent a few days up at Dinner Plain, a 5 hour drive north east of Melbourne. Driving high up in the mountains we saw smoke from the bush fires and it all became very real all of a sudden.

I will post a few photos of the New Year's eve outfits which were pretty interesting!!! Will wore a leopardskin outfit. Very hot.
